Title: "Simplifying Complexity"

Speaker: Rodney Beard supported by Ariel Liebman

Abstract (of sorts):
We will be discussing some of our thinking about the core approaches and metrics to complex systems. Some things that might be revealed: complexity results for biological networks, complexity results for the Bak sandpile model. Discussion point: Algorithmic complexity versus information complexity, static versus dynamic view of systems, System boundaries and velocity of signals.
