Research Officer / Senior Research Officer / Research Fellow

ARC CENTRE FOR COMPLEX SYSTEMS, SCHOOL OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING and ARC CENTRE FOR BIOINFORMATICS, INSTITUTE FOR MOLECULAR BIOSCIENCE, St Lucia Campus

The ARC Centre for Complex Systems (ACCS) and ARC Centre for Bioinformatics (ACB) have a jointly-funded position available for a researcher to participate in a project in the area of computational modelling of genetic regulatory networks (GRN). The project seeks to characterise the computational nature of genetic regulatory networks within a control paradigm in order to generalise insights from the biological systems to other complex systems. The project is supervised by A/Prof Janet Wiles. The role of the Research Officer/ Senior Research Officer / Research Fellow is to design, implement and analyse genetic regulatory networks in collaboration with ACCS and ACB researchers, and to develop appropriate tools.

The Centres seek a motivated and innovative person with good modelling skills to provide support to the project. Applicants should have a background in software engineering or a related field.

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for up to two years at Research Officer (Academic Level A) or Senior Research Officer / Research Fellow (Academic Level B). Appointment at Research Fellow level will require a PhD and demonstrated research potential. The remuneration package will be in the range of $49,931 to $67,728 per annum (Academic Level A) or $71,293 to $84,660 per annum (Academic Level B) which includes employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary.
