Title:  "21st century economics"
Presenter: Paul Ormerod

The idea that economics is based on Rational Man is being abandoned at the
forefront of the discipline.  Most of the Nobel prizes in the 21st century
have gone to economists working beyond rationality.  Paul discusses these
developments, and gives examples of these new kinds of model, which explain
social and economic problems better than the out-dated 'rational' approach.

Paul Ormerod is author of the best-selling books 'Why Most Things Fail',
Butterfly Economics' and 'The Death of Economics'. He is director of the
economics consultancies Volterra UK and Volterra Pacific, and has published
numerous articles on complexity in economic systems, including in such
journals as Physica A.
