Research Officer / Research Fellow –
ARC CENTRE FOR COMPLEX SYSTEMS,
The ARC Centre for Complex Systems has a position available for a researcher to assist in the modelling of processes associated with air traffic control. The successful candidate will work on two related projects, both collaborations with the Key Centre for Human Factors and Applied Cognitive Psychology at the University of Queensland and Airservices Australia. One project is developing workload metrics for air-traffic controllers. The other project is investigating new concepts for air-traffic control, including "free flight".
The Centre seeks a motivated and innovative person with good modelling skills to provide support to both projects. Applicants should have a background in mathematics or a related field.
This is a full-time (or part-time status negotiable), fixed-term appointment for three years at Research Officer (Academic Level A) or Research Fellow (Academic Level B). Appointment at Research Fellow level will require a PhD and demonstrated research potential. The remuneration package will be in the range of $47,526 to $64,466 per annum for Academic Level A and $67,859 to $80,582 per annum for Academic Level B which includes employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary.
